GRI's recessed switches are most versatile for a variety of applications, but the switch and magnet installed, should never form a "T" configuration.

When the application calls for a wide gap switch, using a bare magnet, keep in mind that GRI's bare magnets are installed with the painted end towards the switch as they are polarity sensitive. When protecting steel doors, use the GRI PA-75 collars with our wide gap switch.

The GRI 100 style switch set is our most popular miniature surface mount. Available in both flanged:100-12 ; and without flanges: 110-12, this low profile series is perfect for residential and commercial use where a larger configuration is not appropriate. Available in regular and wide gap, the set incorporates into most decor requirements without being noticeable.

The 100 Series come with mounting screws. Both the 100 and 110 are furnished with 3M adhesive tape for proper mounting on aluminum or vinyl. Spacers, covers, switch only, magnet only and additional 3M adhesive tape are also available separately.

The GRI 4110/4482 Series is basically a “vane” switch for use on storage units with overhead doors and latch type locks. Intended to be mounted on a roll up type door channel, the GRI Vane Switches will not allow the alarm system to arm unless the bolt or latch, which serves as a “shunt” between the reed switch and magnet, is in a locked position. Removal or tampering of the bolt or latch removes the shunting effect and an alarm will be activated when the circuit is opened.

The hidden terminal style - 28 series; our standard surface mount with terminals - the 29 series and the vinyl jacketed lead - 29P series are applicable for both residential and commercial installations. All can be installed on a steel surface with a minimum gap penalty. The "P" style is a pre-wired switch with 2 feet of 2 conductor cable. Spacers, terminal covers and mounting hardware are included in package. A broad range of mounting brackets are also available
